Service Credit Union Charrette Follow-Up Meeting​

Following our successful community design charrette in June of 2024, Service Credit Union is excited to share the preliminary designs for their workforce housing development. This development, which will be built on the Lang Road property behind Service Credit Union's corporate headquarters, aims to provide greatly needed housing to members of Portsmouth's workforce.

Service Credit Union was grateful for the input that neighboring community members provided during the initial design charrette process, and would like to ensure that these same neighbors are the first to see the preliminary designs. We hope you will join us!​
BACKGROUND AND MEETING
​​Service Credit Union has long been interested in providing housing to their staff and other members of the Portsmouth community. Since the beginning, Service Credit Union has been incredibly dedicated to this process, successfully navigating a zoning change to allow for construction in this area and conducting a full community design charrette before beginning any other work.
​
Having now chosen to work with Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH), Service Credit Union is ready to begin sharing preliminary designs for the development with surrounding community members. This community meeting will provide a space for Service Credit Union and POAH to share designs with neighbors of the property. This will be an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the development before it is presented to various Portsmouth city boards.

2024 CHARRETTE REPORT
All Workforce Housing Coalition charrettes end with a final report, which provides an overview of the area in question, the design charrette process, and the final designs created by the volunteer charrette team.
