About the event
Defined as “a range of house-scale buildings with multiple units that are compatible in scale and form with detached single-family homes”, missing middle housing includes duplexes, triplexes, quads, rowhouses and townhouses, cottage clusters, garden apartments, and more. Missing middle housing isn’t new or innovative – in fact, these types of housing are all around us, hidden in plain sight!
There is a movement across the country – in Minneapolis, Oregon, California, Washington D.C., and elsewhere – to relegalize these housing types to allow for greater diversity, increased density, and greater affordability without changing the feel of beloved neighborhoods.
Join us for a discussion about missing middle housing and the planning tools, including form-based code, we can implement to diversify our housing supply.
